Although I am not inked, I have an appreciation for tattoo art. I think it was first fostered 20 years ago by Erno's Tattoos on Filmore St in San Francisco.

Today my friend Christine and I went today to Braindrops, as I was hoping to find my favorite artist there, Phillip.
He left 1.5 years ago to start his own shop in Oakland, called Old Crow Tattoos. As you might guess, his specialty is birds. He once even had pet wild doves that he had rescued from a neighbor. Amazing artist and real nice guy. This is his portfolio.

I also am a fan of Chris Conn's designs. He's also a visual artist.

Whenever errorval and I go to New Orleans we visit Electric Ladyland, I could spend hours there looking at the books.

Check out Kai Smart's work. I think you will really appreciate it. She did my friend Michelle's arm, images Image 73s- 77 of 329 (or the left 5 photos of the 11th row down).

I would love to know where you like to go, and whose art you appreciate. Perhaps someday I will commit to some ink, but right now (as ever) I'm torn between a few ideas.

It's Friday night, will you post a gif/picture that makes you smile?

I'm not a fan of the plug ins or potpourri or most room sprays. 100% chemicals, stinky, and seem toxic. I like fresh flowers, especially the scent of Casablanca lilies or roses.

As for candles,
I love Diptyque - Figuer, Violet, Opopanax- any of them! Great perfumes as well; I love the Neroli & Hesperides.
Joya- especially the vanilla orchid or narcissus fig leaf. They're all natural and hand-poured in NYC.
The only room diffuser scent I like thus far is .Anthousa Nectarine & Red Currant (clean and a little sweet).
I LOVE perfumes! I have probably 20 of them. I used to work in a high end dept store and was exposed to many delicious things, including having breakfast with the esteemed Frederic Malle. He unveiled his new at-the-time fragrance, Dans tes Bras. Another review of this most unusual fragrance. It was an intoxicating scent that we all had to keep smelling over and over again, I cannot describe how addictive it was.

Next time I will list perfumes that I love.

Sun drenched day and I'm at home waiting for my medicine to start working; shouldn't be long.
Sipping a Raspberry Rush Synergy kombucha drink- they are so delicious!
I so rarely update here anymore and wonder if it's like yodeling into the Swiss Alps- to be greeted back with an echo echo echo.

Come in if you want to know about my life as of late:Collapse )

Here's mine:
Since I've moved at least 42x, you can be sure there were some bad roommates mixed in with the good. Let's talk about "G". We (she, my fiance and I) were pals. She lived in another town and would stay with us a lot. We got on so well we decided to move in together. We had no idea what she was really like.
We 3 picked a place and agreed on rooms and rent (1/3 each). My s/o and I shared a bigger room; hers was smaller but we planned to build her a loft and she was excited about that.
Within 2 weeks things went to shit. She was a complete crazy person. She was on Xanax and would drink and turn into a slurring lunatic. Sometimes she'd hit on me, once she suggested drinking each other's blood. She disrespected my cookware (which I asked her to care for specifically if she was going to use it, she repeatedly did not- so I hid it from her). She complained to mutual friends (who took her side w/o knowing our pre-lease agreement)that we took advantage of her and were overcharging her rent... that created some fun drama.
So we took her to coffee and suggested she move out. She said she was never leaving! Things were Unbearable for a few weeks, it was Horrendous. She knew I don't like dirtiness in the bathroom and when she cut her hair, she dumped all of it into my cosmetics drawer.
Thankfully she finally left, to go move in with other friends (yes, she created havoc in their lives too). Only 1 person I know still talks to her.
Months later, she admitted to moving in with us because she was "in love" with me.

Tell me yours!
